Academic Integrity League
On the International Anti-Corruption Day, Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted the national forum of the Academic Integrity League titled “Adal Bilim – Adal Urpaq” (“Honest Education – Honest Generation”).
The Academic Integrity League is an alliance of higher education institutions in Kazakhstan committed to promoting academic integrity across all university processes. The League is a member of the International Center for Academic Integrity (USA).
The forum was held in line with the national values and initiatives “A Just Kazakhstan,” “Law and Order,” and “Adal Azamat”, articulated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The event was organized in cooperation with the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and brought together more than 300 participants from across the country. The forum was attended by Darkhan Zhazykbay, Chairman of the Agency; Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education; Zhuldiz Suleimenova, Minister of Education; as well as university rectors, school principals, and leading education experts.
We addressed what matters most — integrity in education and responsibility for the country’s future. It is within schools and universities that the values are formed with which young people will enter public administration, business, and civic life tomorrow.
As a result of the forum, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the Agency and the relevant ministries, and a Roadmap for 2026–2027 was approved, outlining concrete steps to strengthen a culture of integrity, ethics, and fairness in education.
It is worth noting that the Academic Integrity League has been operating since 2018 and today unites 22 universities. The initiative has become an important platform for systemic change in Kazakhstan’s education sector.
