The key role of AIRS 2.0 standards and League projects in promoting academic integrity in secondary and higher education.

A representative of the Academic Integrity League served as a keynote speaker at the offsite August Conference of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, held in Aktau from August 22 to 27, 2024. The topic of the report was "The Role of AIRS 2.0 Standards and League Projects in Promoting Academic Integrity in the Higher Education System of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

The Conference, which brought together over 3,500 participants, including educators, staff, principals, and deputy principals of structural divisions of the Autonomous Organization of Education "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools," became an important platform for discussing current issues in education.

During her presentation, the Head of the Project Office of the League, Noorgul Noorlan, also highlighted key aspects of academic integrity in secondary education, emphasizing its significance in the era of rapid development of new technologies.

Particular attention was paid to the activities of the Consortium for Promoting Academic Integrity in Secondary Education, established under the League. The Consortium's mission is to improve the quality of secondary education through the implementation and adherence to the principles of academic integrity. The Consortium's activities include the creation of Academic Integrity Councils in schools, the development of a unified standard, and the implementation of a Policy and Code of Honor. Participation in the Consortium involves the active engagement of schools in the creation of relevant committees, the development of strategic plans, and strict adherence to the norms of academic integrity, including the adoption of a Pledge of Honor by students.

The relevance of the conference theme – "Academic Integrity in the Era of New Technologies" – is undeniable, and Ms. Noorlan expressed confidence that consolidated efforts will make it possible to form a strong culture of academic integrity at all levels of education in Kazakhstan.
