The Academic Integrity League Summarizes its Year of Work

On September 14, 2019, the General Assembly of the Academic Integrity League was held under the leadership of Talgat M. Narikbayev, Chairman of the General Assembly and Chairman of the Board of the M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University (KAZGUU).

September 14, 2019, the General Assembly of the Academic Integrity League was held under the leadership of Talgat M. Narikbayev, Chairman of the General Assembly and Chairman of the KazSLU Board. The General Assembly was attended by the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpaev.

Representatives of 12 higher education and postgraduate education organizations, which are members of this organization, as well as the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption, which is an Associate Member of the League, participated in the General Assembly. At the General Assembly, the Agency was represented by Daniyar Sabirbayev, Director of the Good Governance Department.

The main agenda item of the General Assembly was the compliance of the Academic Integrity League members with the membership requirements, including the implementation of the 10 fundamental principles of academic integrity, the objective assessment of learning outcomes through the implementation of the "Bell Curve," and an increase in the percentage of written exams using the "blind" grading principle.

As a result, the West Kazakhstan Medical University named after M. Ospanov was excluded from the Academic Integrity League, and other League members were given conditions to fulfill their obligations.

Additionally, the General Assembly showcased the capabilities of plagiarism prevention systems "StrikePlagiarism.com" and "Antiplagiarism."

The General Assembly also approved the League's Activity Report and financial report for the year 2018 and the first 8 months of 2019.
